Howling Wolves Studios is owned and operated by Newcastle muso Eddie Garven. The studio is situated in the quiet coastal suburb of Whitebridge, Newcastle. Its prime dedication is to host a space that is geared for learning, creativity and collaboration in an inspiring and relaxed environment.
About Eddie Garven
Eddie studied Guitar Performance at Newcastle Conservatory under the instruction of Dr Gareth Koch. He played in various local cover bands around the Newcastle area during this time and later joined Newcastle indie pop group Seabellies as their Bass and Guitar player.
They went on to release 2 albums, an EP and various singles that received high rotation on Triple J. They also released a Triple J Like A Version covering the Angels classic 'Am I Ever Going To See Your Face Again' which can be found on the Like A Version 7 album. In 2008 they attended the prestigious music industry festival CMJ in New York followed with a short tour of the US which included a show at the famous Viper Room in LA.
Later Eddie began his own band Twin Lakes, fine tuning his vocal and songwriting skills along with his guitar playing. They toured both nationally and internationally. They also received radio play on Triple J and various stations around the globe and garnered two semifinalist positions in the International Songwriting Competition for their songs 'Glacier' and 'Wolf Hall'. In 2014 and 2015 they were invited to play at the Canadian Music Week festival in Toronto, Canada. They also attended the Music Matters Festival in Singapore in 2015 and toured the US during this time too.
Eddie currently spends most of his time teaching, writing and recording at Howling Wolves Studios.
